JCash produced this single for me, and it’s about an abusive relationship I was in back in 2016. I wrote it in hindsight much later after I was able to heal and kinda process the whole thing. I feel like men don’t often talk about abuse we might face in romantic relationships (whether it be emotional, physical, or both) for fear we’ll look weak or won’t be believed, so it’s important for me to recount my experiences and shine some light on the issue. I think the song comes off maybe a bit harsh without context, but it was a raw expression of anger and trauma so I didn’t want to censor myself. The nature of the beat and subject matter influenced me a bit to take some cues from emo/pop punk music in my melodies and delivery, which is something thats bleeding into my upcoming new music a lot. The cover art is slightly Nirvana-inspired.
